Cycling the Cordillera Blanca in Peru was one of the most amazing things on this long distance bicycle adventure. Peru is definately in the top three of our favorite destinations! This video will give you some idea of how beautiful this part of the world is. Enjoy!

    Cordillera Blanca Loop

    November 2, 2014

Route: Huaraz – Punta Olimpica – Chacas – Yanama – Yungay

I love the mountains and I curse them. They make me happy and then again they suck the energy right out of me. But, there’s something inside me that wants to concur them. Something inside me that tells me to go for it, to cross passes above 4500 meter altitude. I am the happiest person in the world once I’ve reached the top; yes, it’s all worth it.

Machu Picchu is very overwhelming. The location is incredible. Together with Paul and Jan we spend hours just wandering through the old Inca ruins. But there’s more! The four of us went on a tour through the jungle in Tambopata NP. Not a lot of cycling in this video, but definately worth watching!

No mountain too high, no valley too low

    October 9, 2014

There’s no such thing as a ‘flat’ road in Peru. It’s like a rollercoaster ride above 4000 and even 5000 meter. From one high pass down to cross a stream and up again to another pass. In a matter of one or two hours we drop 2000 meter, to climb up again in the next days. When we reach the highest point at 5000 meters, we are completely alone. Haven’t seen a car in days, there’s nothing here but a breathtaking view.

    ‘Sexywoman’ and Machu Picchu

    September 2, 2014

Perfectly matching and rounded stones are forming the walls of the Inca ruins near Cusco. Pisac, Ollantaytambo, ‘Sexywoman’ and most importantly ‘Machu Picchu’. We discover the Sacred Valley and take the train to Aguas Calientes to visit the Inca ruins of all Inca ruins.

    Maybe later!

    September 1, 2014

“Hey lady, want massage? Special price for special friend!” Uhh, is this Thailand? No, it’s Cusco, Peru! By walking around Plaza the Armas within minutes your shoes are polished, you’re bound to board a tourist bus or there’s a guinea pig on your plate! “Maybe later!” 🙂
